CINCINNATI – Crews working on the parking garage at The Banks will be conducting back-to-back concrete pours beginning at 2:00 a.m. tomorrow, Tuesday, April 5, through mid afternoon. Road closures along Rosa Parks Street, then Freedom Way will be in place to accommodate pump trucks.
The first pour will require the closure of Rosa Parks Street between Ted Berry Way at the Roebling traffic circle to Freedom Way from 2:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. The second pour will close Freedom Way between Rosa Parks and Race streets from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Both streets will be open during morning rush hour.
Motorists will be directed to detour via Walnut Street during the first pour, overnight. Detour signage also will be posted on site.
Motorists heading east on Freedom Way after 9:00 a.m. will be detoured north at Race, east on Second, south on Rosa and east again on Freedom Way. Motorists heading west on Freedom Way will be detoured north on Rosa Parks/Vine, west on Third, south on Race and west on Freedom. Detour signage also will be posted.
On-street parking will be prohibited along this stretch of Freedom Way during the closure. In addition, sidewalks on both sides of the street will be closed. Detour signage will direct pedestrians via Second Street.
This work is part of Phase IIIA infrastructure improvements at The Banks, which include the creation of 690 parking spaces and a one-block extension of Race Street south of Freedom Way.
The project is slated to finish by the end of 2016.
