CINCINNATI – Lincoln Avenue between Reading Road and Winslow Avenue will be closed for approximately one month beginning Monday, Jan. 4, 2016, so crews for the University of Cincinnati may continue renovation of a former Sears, Roebuck & Co. department store.
The closure will be in place 24/7 until at least Feb. 1 to accommodate crews tearing down a portion of the building at 2900 Reading Road. In addition, the east lane and sidewalk along Reading Road from Linton to Lincoln remains closed 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily.
Motorists on Lincoln will be detoured via Reading, Oak Street and Winslow Avenue. Detour signage will be posted.
Local access for residents and businesses will be maintained from Concordia Street to Lincoln.
Pedestrian access will be allowed on the north side of Lincoln. Also, the Metro bus stop in this stretch of Lincoln has been temporarily relocated farther down the north side of the street.
Check www.go-metro.com for updates.
UC is transforming the site into a technology research center. The university has been using the building for other purposes. Exterior work is expected to wrap up by late fall 2016.
