CINCINNATI – One lane in each direction of Eggleston Avenue will be closed daily 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. between Reedy and Third streets through Sunday, Nov. 20, as reconstruction progresses overhead on the I-71 south bridge.
The new deck will extend along the interstate south from the Mount Adams pedestrian bridge to the entrance of Lytle Tunnel.
Crews this week are installing forms and rebar between the bridge beams on the stretch of I-71 south that runs over Eggleston. They will begin pouring concrete for the deck in a couple weeks.
Additional lane closures as well as overnight full closures may be needed once crews begin pouring concrete. Updates will be forthcoming.
The contractor started demolition of the old bridge deck in late September. Work on the northbound lanes of I-71 will start once the southbound side is finished late this year.
