CINCINNATI – Parts of Culvert and Sentinel streets will be closed overnight tonight Monday, Dec. 5, and again Thursday, Dec. 8, from 9:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. the next day for crane-assisted deliveries of rebar to crews reconstructing the southbound bridge deck on Interstate 71 near Lytle Tunnel.
To safely accommodate the crane, the northern end of Culvert Street will be closed from Sentinel to Reedy, and Sentinel will be closed to Fifth Street.
Motorists will be detoured via Eggleston Avenue. Signs will be posted on site to help direct motorists.
Please see the following map for detour information.
Crews for the Ohio Department of Transportation are preparing for another concrete pour. The timing of the pour will depend on weather conditions.
The contractor finished demolition of the old deck last month. Reconstruction of the northbound side of I-71 will begin after the southbound side is finished this winter.
Work to replace the southbound bridge deck between the entrance to Lytle Tunnel and the pedestrian bridge to Mount Adams began in September.
