CINCINNATI – Eastbound 12th Street between Race and Walnut will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday, April 28, and Wednesday, April 29, so crews may mill and pave this stretch as part of the Cincinnati Streetcar project. Work takes place 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. both days.
Motorists traveling east on 12th Street will be detoured south at Race, east on Central Parkway, north on Vine and west again on 12th. Vine Street will be reduced to one lane in each direction while work is under way.
Detour signage will be posted.
Access to the School for Creative and Performing Arts, 3CDC’s offices and other area businesses and residences will be maintained. Instructional signage and cones will help direct motorists around the equipment staged on Vine Street.
Pedestrian access will be maintained.
Other pavement work
In addition, crews are excavating a 50-foot stretch of Elm Street just north of 12th to remove old Cincinnati Streetcar rail to allow for milling and final paving for the new streetcar route. Cincinnati police are on site to help direct traffic. Motorists in the area should expect intermittent closures until the work is finished later this week.
