CINCINNATI - The Findlay Market area of Race Street between McMicken and Elder and the intersection of Findlay Street at Race will close for three weeks beginning Monday, Oct. 27, so crews may install track for the Cincinnati Streetcar.
Access to Findlay Market and all its parking lots will be maintained throughout the closure, which ends Friday, Nov. 14.
“Crews will be installing curved at the intersections to create turnouts for possible, future expansion,” said John Deatrick, project executive. “Turnouts are more complex and take longer to install than straight, tangent track because they are set in concrete and require additional steps to complete.”
Race Street will be closed at McMicken but local access maintained. Motorists will be detoured south on Vine to Elder back to Race. Elder will be temporarily converted to one-way west. Findlay Street will be closed between McMicken and Elm. Local access to the Findlay Market north parking lot will be maintained via Findlay Street.
Detour signs will be posted to help guide motorists around the work site. All pedestrian access will be maintained.
Additional work will continue in the area until mid December, requiring lane restrictions. Paving on Elm & Race is scheduled to finish tomorrow, Saturday, Oct. 25.
