CINCINNATI – A portion of Eggleston Avenue will be closed from 9:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. nightly through Wednesday, starting this evening, Monday, Oct. 10, while contractor crews for the Ohio Department of Transportation work overhead on Interstate 71.
The contractor has been cutting out the existing concrete deck and performing other demolition since late September as preparation for the reconstruction of the interstate’s southbound bridge deck between the entrance to Lytle Tunnel and the pedestrian bridge to Mount Adams.
The closure of Eggleston is needed so crews may safely remove the concrete and related debris from the site overhead.
Motorists heading east on Eggleston will be detoured right onto Reedy, left onto Culvert and back to Eggleston. Those heading west on Eggleston will be detoured at Sentinel to Culvert to Reedy and back to Eggleston.
Detour signs will be posted on site. Please see the map below for detour information.
The contractor also plans to close Culvert and Sentinel streets once finished with its work that runs over Eggleston. That closure is expected to take place later this week. An update will be sent when details are available.
