CINCINNATI – Joe Nuxhall Way will be closed between Freedom Way and Mehring Way 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. tomorrow, Tuesday, March 15, Wednesday, March 16 and Thursday, March 17, so crews may set the first round of concrete panels for the AC Marriott Hotel under construction at The Banks.
The crane will be stationed on the side of the road overnight beginning at 4:00 p.m. each day to allow through traffic. One lane of through traffic will be allowed in both directions. Cones will be set up around the site to help direct motorists and pedestrians.
In addition, the west sidewalk in this same stretch of Joe Nuxhall Way will remain closed.
Motorists who wish to travel south on Joe Nuxhall Way will be detoured east at Second Street, south on Broadway/Johnny Bench Way, west on Mehring Way to Elm Street to Freedom Way.
Motorists who wish to head north on Joe Nuxhall Way will be detoured via Mehring Way as well.
Pedestrians will be detoured to the east sidewalk immediately adjacent to Great American Ball Park, then south to Mehring Way.
Detour signage for motorists and pedestrians will be posted.
The contractor plans to conduct similar closures for additional concrete panel deliveries the weeks of March 28, April 11 and April 25. Updates will be provided closer to those projected dates.
Exterior work on the seven-story AC Marriott is expected to wrap up in spring 2017.
