“This weekend is especially busy in downtown because of the Flying Pig Marathon,” said Ursula Miller, manager of RoadmapCincy. “The contractor and Cincinnati police have worked together to adjust detour routes to accommodate runners and motorists Sunday morning.”
Motorists on Main who wish to head west on Court Street will be detoured west at Central Parkway, south at Walnut and west again on Court. Motorists on Walnut who wish to travel east on Court Street will be detoured east onto Seventh Street, north on Main and east again on Court.
The following adjustments to the detour route will be in place between 6:30 a.m. and noon Sunday due to the race. Motorists on Main Street will be detoured west at Ninth and north on Vine. The detour for motorists on Walnut Street will be Eighth Street to Vine.
Extensive detour and instructional signage, including arrow boards and orange barrels, will be posted at the construction site to help motorists, runners and visitors traveling in this part of downtown.
In addition, Cincinnati police will be stationed at key intersections during the race to ensure the safety of all participants and to help maintain traffic flow through all detours.
Parking will be prohibited on both sides of Court Street during the weekend. Pedestrian access will be maintained but limited.
