Downtown streets near MLB All-Star event venues will be temporarily closed or have reduced access through Thursday, July 16, to make room for the many events and activities leading up to and after the big game, including T-Mobile All-Star FanFest and the All-Star Red Carpet Show presented by Chevrolet.

The Major League Baseball All-Star Game takes place at Great American Ball Park on Tuesday, July 14.

“The City of Cincinnati is excited to host this marquee event and all the activities associated with it,” said Harry Black, City Manager. “This is a tremendous opportunity for Cincinnati. For almost two years police, fire, parks, health and other city departments have been working on operational details with the Cincinnati Reds, Major League Baseball representatives and local event organizers to ensure visitors, fans and residents enjoy the experience.”

Cincinnati Police will be stationed throughout downtown and at key intersections to help manage traffic flow and provide crowd control. Visitors are encouraged to plan ahead, carpool and utilize public transportation when convenient.

Free Public Shuttle
Metro will be providing a free fan shuttle between Washington Park, Duke Energy Convention Center and Fountain Square July 10 – 13. The shuttle will run every 10 to 12 minutes. Look for the specially marked bus stops along the route.  Visit www.go-metro.com for details. Follow Metro on Twitter @cincinnatimetro for the latest detour and route information during All-Star Week.

All-Star Walking Path

In addition, to encourage fans taking part in All-Star Week activities to walk, rather than drive, MLB in cooperation with the Reds, the City of Cincinnati and Hamilton County and Kentucky Department of Transportation developed an All-Star Walking Path.

The path will primarily serve as a route between T-Mobile All-Star FanFest at the Duke Energy Convention Center and Great American Ball Park traveling between the two locations via Fifth and Walnut streets. In addition, the John A. Roebling Suspension Bridge and Taylor-Southgate Bridge will be part of the path for fans attending All-Star events from Kentucky.

The path will be painted with green markings on the sidewalk and signage along the route. Fans will be able to reference the route on their iPhones and supported Android smartphones via the free MLB.com Ballpark app. In addition, hotels along the route will have maps and information for fans to reference the All-Star Walking Path during the All-Star festivities.
